Otolaryngology is the area of medicine responsible for the health of the "strategic triangle": the ear, throat, and nose. These organs are the first to meet viruses and infections, so protecting them calls for a professional approach. At CSM Clinic in Kyiv, appointments are led by experienced ENT doctors who follow the standards of evidence-based medicine. We rely on an accurate diagnosis and select therapy supported by evidence.
We provide care for both acute conditions and chronic disorders. The most common reasons patients visit us are:
Do not self-medicate. Ordinary nose drops can cause dependence with prolonged use, and an untreated ear infection can lead to hearing loss.
Book a consultation if you notice:
Endoscopy is a key method of modern ENT diagnostics. Endoscopic equipment allows the doctor to examine hard-to-reach areas (the deep parts of the nose, the nasopharynx, the larynx) under magnification, with the image displayed on a screen.
Examination methods:
In Ukrainian, "LOR" is an abbreviation of the names of the organs: Larynx, Otos (ear), and Rhinos (nose). The full name of the specialty is otolaryngology. In English, the abbreviation is ENT (ear, nose, and throat).
For 2-3 hours before your visit, avoid vasoconstrictor nose drops, throat sprays, and ointments. This helps the doctor see the real condition of the mucous membrane. If you have previous scans or medical reports, bring them with you.
The "cuckoo" is a method of rinsing the nose by moving fluid through the nasal passages. Yes, our clinic offers this procedure, as well as rinsing of the tonsil crypts and other physical therapy procedures, but only when indicated by the doctor.
It is generally not painful. The procedure may cause mild discomfort ("tickling"), but we use thin flexible endoscopes and, when necessary, local topical anesthesia (a spray) to help the patient feel comfortable.
If nothing is bothering you, one preventive checkup a year is enough. If you have chronic conditions (tonsillitis, rhinitis), the doctor sets the visit schedule individually.
