Professor Abdulaiev studies heat shock proteins (HSP), chaperones, and the mechanisms of protein folding and cellular stress. He studies the role of HSPs in maintaining cell stability and regulating the immune response.
His main research focuses on viral hepatitis (A-E), in particular hepatitis C, its genetic mutations, its association with primary biliary cirrhosis, and herpesvirus infections (EBV, CMV, HSV).
Together with Academician Kateryna Amosova, he studies the role of infectious agents in the development of rheumatic lesions and cardiovascular pathology.
He proposed an updated biochemical testing standard that includes a 12th item - microbiological analysis of throat and nasal swabs for pathogenic flora.
He studies the epidemiological surveillance system, biosafety in medical facilities, prevention of nosocomial infections, and rational use of antimicrobial drugs.
He develops modern curricula for students, interns, and residents, including for the International Medical Faculty of Bogomolets National Medical University.
Author of numerous scientific works, monographs, and textbooks. His work is cited in Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science databases.
He maintains scientific contacts with specialists from Poland, Uzbekistan, Germany, Turkey, and Italy. He takes part in international conferences on virology, hepatology, and infection safety.
