ADI-R - Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised

ADI-R is a modern diagnostic tool in the form of a detailed questionnaire-interview, the results of which allow identifying signs of autism or ASD even with minimal suspicion. The ADI-R test offered by the Brain Stimulation Center can be used with children of any age or social group, as long as the child is at least 2 years old.

The ADI-R questionnaire (autism diagnostic interview revised) may not be the only way to diagnose these disorders, but its use as part of a comprehensive examination including PEP-3, CASD, Leiter-3, Conners-3, WISC-4, ADOS-2 often helps identify all details of the disorder present and improve the results of subsequent treatment.

The procedure and who performs it, what is it used for, and how are the results used?

The autism diagnosis interview is conducted by a clinical psychologist in the presence of a paediatrician and speech therapist. Questions on the ADI-R test are asked of both parents/guardians and the person being tested. It takes 1.5 to 2 hours.

The ADI-R Autism Diagnostic Questionnaire consists of test-interview items that are printed on one form to enter scores. The results are systematically combined to conclude.

If the purpose of the study is to diagnose the overall neurodevelopmental state of the test subject, one of the two ADI-R Algorithms are used for children at the age:

• 2-4
• 4 and above.

If the diagnosis of autism and ASD is aimed at drawing up a plan or adjusting the educational/therapeutic program, the focus of specialists is on the analysis of behaviour at a particular time. In such cases, the ADI-R Diagnostic Algorithm at a given time for children is used for questioning:

• 3 and under
• 4 to 10
• 10 and above.

In ADI-R results, high scores indicate potential intellectual developmental delays. If the threshold is exceeded in all three domains, it is worthwhile to continue the evaluation for autism or ASD.

The ADI-R diagnosis at the Brain Stimulation Center is also confirmed by other techniques: ADOS-2, Leiter-3, CASD, Conners-3, PEP-3, WISC-4.
