Neurosurgeon in Kyiv: Expert Diagnostics and Patient Guidance at CSM Clinic

Neurosurgery is not always about the scalpel. In many cases, patients with back or head pain need not surgery but proper conservative care or accurate diagnostics. At CSM Clinic in Kyiv, we carefully assess your condition and determine whether an intervention is truly needed, and if so, we refer you to specialized hospitals. If surgery can be avoided, we offer non-surgical methods and rehabilitation.

When should you book a consultation?

Patients often spend years treating "osteochondrosis" and lose time. You should see a neurosurgeon at CSM Clinic if you have the following symptoms:

Our decision-making strategy

We do not leave the patient alone with a complex diagnosis.

  1. Diagnostic stage: the doctor reviews the images (MRI, CT) and checks reflexes and sensation. At CSM Clinic, electroencephalography (EEG), vascular ultrasound, and a full range of lab tests are available.
  2. Conservative treatment: if surgery is not urgently needed, we use medication-based nerve blocks to relieve pain, physical therapy, acupuncture, and medication support.
  3. Referral for surgery: if an intervention is unavoidable, we prepare a package of documents and refer you to experienced neurosurgeons in Kyiv.
  4. Postoperative support: removal of stitches, dressings, monitoring of healing and, most importantly, neurorehabilitation to help restore the ability to work.

Problems we address on an outpatient basis

Frequently asked questions

Do you perform spine or brain surgery?

No, CSM Clinic is an outpatient center. We provide diagnostics, therapeutic blocks, and rehabilitation. Major open surgeries are performed in specialized hospitals, where we refer patients when needed.

How is a neurologist different from a neurosurgeon?

A neurologist treats the nervous system with medication and procedures. A neurosurgeon assesses mechanical damage (a hernia pressing on a nerve, a tumor displacing the brain) and decides whether it can be corrected without surgery or whether it is time to operate.

What should I bring to the consultation?

Be sure to bring the MRI/CT disc or films (the report alone is not enough, the doctor needs to see the images), hospital discharge summaries, and the results of previous examinations.

Can I have rehabilitation with you after a hernia removal?

Yes, we offer this. We develop individual recovery programs that include physical therapy, therapeutic exercise, and work with a rehabilitation specialist to help reduce the risk of recurrence and restore flexibility.

When should I get an MRI: before or after the visit?

If you have acute pain in the back or head, it is better to come for an examination first. The doctor will determine exactly which area to scan and in which mode, so you do not spend money on unnecessary tests.
