Center for Rehabilitation and Mental Health in Bila Tserkva to Receive Over 50 Military Families for Free Care
Supporting the health of Ukrainians is especially important today. First of all, such help is needed by service members who are taking or have taken part in hostilities. And this is not only about rehabilitation after injuries. Many military personnel need psychological support and social adaptation, and it is very important that this work is done by professionals. The all-Ukrainian "Recovery of Ukraine" project and the "How Are You?" mental health program, initiated by First Lady Olena Zelenska, are aimed at these tasks.
The first steps have already been taken in Bila Tserkva with the opening of the "Center for Rehabilitation and Mental Health." It is located at CSM Clinic, which specializes in the rehabilitation of people with neurological, mental and psychological disorders or their consequences. The opening of the center was the result of joint work by several organizations, the International Headquarters for Aid to Ukrainians and the Kyiv Regional Military Administration. With the involvement of business, the center was built and equipped in a very short time, which will allow work under the program to begin immediately.
The guests of the opening ceremony were representatives of many state organizations and medical institutions who took an active part in the project:
Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration;
Hanna Krysiuk, Head of the International Headquarters for Aid to Ukrainians;
Oleksandr Kiian, founder and director of CSM Clinic;
Olena Tolkachova, founder and head of the Angels of Azov Patronage Service Charitable Foundation.
They all expressed gratitude to those who joined the initiative and helped to carry out such a challenging project in the shortest time. They also thanked the soldiers defending Ukraine and stressed that many of them need medical and psychological help after returning home, so it is extremely important to organize it at the highest level.
After the ceremony, the guests were able to tour the center's premises, see the equipment of the rooms and assess the conditions for patients. A meeting was also held with soldiers of the Azov regiment who returned from captivity, and their families. They are currently undergoing treatment and rehabilitation in line with international standards.
Main areas of work of the "Center for Rehabilitation and Mental Health"
The demand for rehabilitation services for military personnel and people affected by hostilities is currently very high and varied. All of this was taken into account when developing the program of the "Center for Rehabilitation and Mental Health." The focus was on helping people with various physical and psychological impairments return to normal life as soon as possible. The following areas were chosen:
Treatment of the musculoskeletal system using physiotherapy, drug therapy and other methods.
Therapy for the consequences of neurological and mental illnesses.
Psychological support and social adaptation of military personnel to help them return to a normal way of life.
The center is provided with the necessary equipment for these services. It has specialized rooms for laser therapy, massage, work with a psychologist and more. Comfortable conditions have been created for patients: the center is designed for 55 families. About 120 qualified specialists are involved.
Treatment of military personnel will be completely free of charge. International funds and business contributions were attracted for this purpose.
It is worth noting that similar centers have already been opened in a number of cities of Kyiv Oblast, including Vorzel. However, the project plans to cover more district centers and other localities.
