Perinatal CNS Damage in Children

1. Acute.
The 1st month of life. Characteristic symptoms: increased excitability, hypertonia, trembling of the limbs and chin, refusing the breast.

2. Early recovery period of PCD.
The 2nd-3rd month of life. Characteristic symptoms: delayed mental and speech development, increased motor activity and excitability of the child, movement disorder syndrome, epileptic seizures, problems with swallowing and chewing, delayed development of facial expressions and speech, hydrocephalic syndrome, and others.

3. Late recovery period of PCD.
From 4 months to 1 year (up to 2 years in premature infants). Characteristic symptoms: poor facial expressions, delayed cooing and babbling, indifference to the surrounding world and objects, including toys.

4. Consequences of the disease.
They depend directly on whether the child received help in the previous periods. Its absence or interrupted nature leads to the formation of persistent conditions and syndromes: ADHD, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, alalia, developmental delay, dysarthria and others.
