Cerebrasthenic Syndrome: Treatment at CSM
War is not only a front line between opposing sides. It is present in every aspect of people's lives and drains them financially, physically and psychologically. Air raid alerts, chronic lack of sleep, work under stress, streams of negative news - all of this contributes to nervous exhaustion, which has the medical term "cerebrasthenic syndrome."
It is important to understand that cerebrasthenia is not a disease but a condition. When strength and patience run out, a person says, "I'm at my limit..." In this state it seems impossible to withstand the tension any longer and a breakdown feels imminent. But this is not a sentence. Although cerebrasthenia is a nonspecific disorder of the nervous system, it can and should be addressed. The main thing is to listen to your body and see a doctor in time.
Cerebrasthenic Syndrome: Symptoms and Causes
Cerebrasthenia is exhaustion of the nervous system and the brain, which can be triggered by a combination of causes:
- excessive physical, mental and psychological overload;
- deep and prolonged stress;
- systematic lack of sleep;
- traumatic brain injuries/concussions;
- some chronic diseases, including infectious ones, that impair blood circulation in the brain or adversely affect the nervous system;
- alcohol, drugs, chemical poisoning - anything that can cause intoxication of the body.
A deficiency of nutrients, vitamins and minerals can also cause signs of cerebrasthenia.
Also, cerebrasthenic syndrome may be accompanied by the following symptoms:
- general weakness and a marked decrease in work capacity;
- poor concentration;
- memory impairment;
- dull headache;
- dizziness, loss of balance;
- sleep disturbances;
- unstable emotional state.
Cerebrasthenic syndrome is very often accompanied by autonomic disorders: tremor, unstable heartbeat, digestive disturbances, increased sweating and cold extremities.
