General speech underdevelopment (GSU) is a condition associated with incorrect formation of a child's speech.
CSM Clinic sees many children diagnosed with GSU, or general speech underdevelopment. This term describes a complex disorder that covers a wide range of deviations in the formation and development of the speech system. Children with GSU speak poorly (and sometimes do not speak at all), have difficulty building sentences correctly, and have difficulty pronouncing some sounds.
The cause and the level of impairment (there are several) can be determined only by a qualified specialist, such as a pediatric speech therapist, neurologist, or psychologist, and sometimes a team consultation is needed. The speech therapy assessment for general speech underdevelopment is the first and main stage of treatment. It affects how long treatment will take, which methods and techniques will be used, and what the prognosis is for level 1 to level 4 GSU.
At CSM Clinic, treatment begins with an examination of children with GSU. One can treat symptoms for as long as one likes and teach a child to build sentences correctly, yet not achieve results because the methods were chosen incorrectly. For example, if the cause of the changes is a respiratory disease, sessions of transcranial brain stimulation will be of no use.

GSU refers to a pathology in the verbal expression of thoughts.
Second, a pathology in the verbal expression of thoughts is not a synonym for intellectual disability. Up to a certain age, the child understands no worse than peers, hears everything, and comprehends fairly well. But later, the absence of verbal communication may lead to memory problems, loss of interest in any cognitive activity, and problems with concentration.
Treatment of GSU in children in Kyiv and in Ukraine depends directly on the severity of the condition. Specialists use this criterion for classification, in which level 4 general speech underdevelopment is the mildest form and level 1 is the most severe.
| GSU level 1 | The most severe level, often characterized by a complete absence of speech. Even a five-year-old child with this level only babbles and, at best, can pronounce one whole word, but even that causes considerable difficulty. |
| GSU level 2 | At this level the child has the beginnings of speech and can put together the simplest sentence of a few words. But the vocabulary is poor, and the child pronounces sounds with difficulty and with gross pronunciation errors. |
| GSU level 3 | At this stage fairly conscious speech with phrases is observed, but simple sentences still remain its basis. There are minor deviations in phonetic perception and in agreement between parts of speech. |
| GSU level 4 | The child communicates fairly confidently and has a wide vocabulary, but pronunciation is still difficult, and the logic of the narrative sometimes suffers. |
If your child speaks poorly and does not understand words by ear (for example, when asked to point to a picture of a house, the child points to anything but the right image), it is worth showing the child to CSM specialists. The Center's services may not necessarily be useful to you, but if they are needed, it is better to start working with the child as early as possible.
Systemic speech underdevelopment requires an equally systemic approach to treatment. After the assessment, the patient's apparent difficulties and their causes become clear, and a plan of corrective work can then be drawn up. Розговоритися моєму синові допомогли в ЦСМ. Тут відмінні логопеди-дефектологи, зверталися і ми, і моя подруга з дитячого майданчика. Ми були у Аніщенко Вікторії Миколаївни, у неї доволі хороший підхід до дитини, терпляче ставлення. Це головне! )) Рекомендую!

Син сестри страждає аутизмом, тому є проблеми з вимовою і взагалі з мовленням. Це і специфічне складання слів у речення, своя логіка, одним словом - особлива дитина як кажуть. З ним працювала Карімова Муніра по батькове не пам'ятаю. Вона на сеансах з дитиною використовувала спеціальні навушники, які допомагали дитині чути свій голос і голос лікаря в модифікованому варіанті. Проводила логопедичні масажі. Сестра, каже що результат є. Тому я теж рекомендую ЦСМ! В нас ще є час, але думаю, що скоро прийдемо на консультацію перед садочком - хочеться бути впевненими що все в порядку.

Лечение недоразвития речи
нина. мы с мужем научились понимать лепет нашего сына ближе к 4 годам - когда он стал более понятным нашим ушам. но другие люди ничегошеньки не понимают. в саду те же проблемы, только таких как он еще 2 человека. решили обратиться к логопеду-дефектологу в ЦСМ, что на на василия порика находится. нам посоветовали козу оксану владимировну. нам она помогла с постановкой и автоматизацией звука, нужно было много тренироваться, проговаривать слова и звуки. дома тоеж постоянно тренировались, брала отпуск специальн для этого, потому что иначе никак. после логопедического массажа спало мышечное напряжение. он стал боле четко выговаривать слова и другие слова которые появляются звучат более понятнее а не как раньше абырвалг какойто. так что спасибо большое специалистам центра! очень приятно, что в украине есть такаие замечательные центры для деток, где им помогут а не просто выставят чек и мило улыбнуться. спасибо, мы вам доверяем! простите за такое количество ошибок, пишу с телефона, пальцы не всегда попадают куда надо и т9 рулит )))) спасибо большое!!!
