Dyslexia is a disorder related to reading skills.
Dyslexia is a diagnosis that most parents in Ukraine are not familiar with. Like anything new, it is surrounded by myths and misconceptions cultivated in society, on internet forums, and in specialized groups, which cause parents to lose vigilance. Dyslexia is a condition that requires qualified treatment, yet it is often replaced with unfounded accusations against the child, such as that the child is simply lazy, stubborn, or disobedient.
If your child has been diagnosed with dyslexia, or you notice the symptoms described below, do not turn to forums for advice from loving parents who are not experts in neurology. Instead, come to our dyslexia treatment center for children for a consultation with experienced neurologists and modern treatment.
We understand that dyslexia does not look like the most dangerous condition in the world, so the diagnosis in a medical record may tempt people to wave it off and say it will pass by itself. Like most conditions of neurological nature, it is unlikely to pass on its own. It may lead to the following:
We are sure this is not the future you want for your children, so we recommend contacting CSM in good time for diagnosis of childhood dyslexia and the development of a correction plan.
Dyslexia is a disorder of the reading process with one or more characteristic symptoms. A child with dyslexia has difficulty remembering and recognizing letters and swaps syllables in words, so speech is imperfect. The quality of reading is affected as well: the child may not understand what has been read or may perceive it in a distorted way. This disorder arises from underdevelopment of the higher mental functions responsible for learning to read and carrying out this process.
The causes of dyslexia are also typical of other reversible neurological disorders: hypoxia due to prolonged labor, neuroinfections, head injuries, specific childhood infections, and systemic and hereditary diseases. Signs of dyslexia can be observed in children with organic brain damage, autism, developmental delay, hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy, and intellectual disability. However, although dyslexia implies reduced functioning of certain areas of the left hemisphere, it is usually not accompanied by reduced intelligence. All the problems arise because the brain cannot efficiently process sensory information from the outside: all its resources go to processing it, and there are simply none left to master the equally resource-intensive skill of reading.
This is why it is important for parents to understand that the child is actually capable of reading correctly and understanding information, but there is a barrier that prevents these abilities from being used. Dyslexia treatment for children at CSM in Kyiv is aimed at helping to overcome this barrier.
Treatment of childhood dyslexia in Kyiv is complicated by the fact that most children are no longer toddlers or even preschoolers. Reading difficulties can only be identified once the child starts reading, usually at 6-7 years old. Their brain no longer develops as intensively, and its functionality has partly settled, so correction of dyslexia and dysgraphia takes more time.
However, early diagnosis of dyslexia is possible. There are some signs of the condition that parents can notice in early childhood:
Children with dyslexia lack initiative and may even seem infantile; their volitional sphere is poorly developed, and any task that requires effort can trigger a tantrum.
If you already observe similar symptoms in your child, come to the clinic for a professional consultation with a neurologist. We will help determine the cause of these manifestations and select suitable treatment from the range of available methods: speech therapy exercises for dyslexia, a psychologist consultation, massage, alternative types of therapy, Interactive Metronome sessions, Tomatis therapy, and others.
Treatment of dyslexia at a clinic in Kyiv aims to address the cause of dyslexia, reduce symptoms, and support your child's successful learning.

Dyslexia Treatment in Children in Kyiv
