Massage for Children in Kyiv: Care for Healthy Development at CSM Clinic
Massage for children is a tool that may help a baby grow properly, develop motor skills and support the immune system. At CSM Clinic in Kyiv, we understand that working with children requires special sensitivity and professionalism. Our pediatric massage therapists and rehabilitation specialists have specialized medical education and many years of experience working with patients from birth to adolescence. We offer both preventive courses for healthy children and therapeutic massage for various conditions of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.
When Does a Child Need Massage?
Massage can be useful at every stage of growth. For infants (under 1 year):
- Increased or decreased muscle tone (hypertonia or hypotonia).
- Torticollis (muscular dystonia of the neck).
- Hip dysplasia.
- Umbilical hernia.
- Delayed motor development (the baby does not roll over, sit or crawl on time).
- Colic and digestive problems.
For preschoolers and schoolchildren:
- Posture problems (slouching, scoliosis, kyphosis).
- Flat feet, valgus or varus deformity of the feet ("clubfoot").
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) — to help reduce excitability.
- Frequent colds and bronchitis (drainage massage).
- Recovery after injuries (fractures, sprains).
- Headaches, fatigue from schoolwork.
Types of Massage at CSM Clinic
We use an individual approach, combining different techniques depending on age and diagnosis:
- Therapeutic: aimed at a specific medical problem (correcting torticollis, foot correction, relieving spasticity in cerebral palsy). Prescribed strictly by a doctor (a neurologist or orthopedist).
- Wellness (preventive): strengthens the muscular corset, may improve circulation and sleep, and supports the immune system.
- Drainage: a special technique to help clear sputum in respiratory diseases.
- Speech therapy: massage of the face and tongue to help improve sound pronunciation.
How a Session Goes
CSM Clinic provides comfortable conditions for young patients.
- Adaptation: The specialist first builds rapport with the child so that the procedure does not cause stress or tears.
- Duration: Session length depends on age: 20–30 minutes for infants and 30–45 minutes for older children.
- Safety: We use hypoallergenic oils and sterile disposable sheets.
- Parent training: Our specialists will show you simple techniques you can do at home to reinforce the results.
A consultation with a doctor (pediatrician, neurologist or orthopedist) is required before starting a course to rule out contraindications.

Massage is not performed if the child has:
- High temperature, fever.
- Acute respiratory infections.
- Pustular skin rashes, diathesis in the acute stage.
